RIDES LEAVING FROM THE BRANCH CROSSING YMCA IN THE WOODLANDS:

Dog Loop Defined: You may be new to the club, or have been around a while but have not been on any rides. Many times you will hear the name "Dog Loop." Well, if you click the below link it will show you Dog Loop. From the Branch Crossing YMCA, this is about 30 miles as an out and back. It can be shortened by going Dog Loop Short. So, now you know the name and the route. The start time on weekends is 7:30am at the Branch Crossing YMCA and even those going long will head out on Dog Loop.

Want to go farther than Dog Loop? Try the McDonald’s Ride. This is great for those looking to get into that 40 mile range. The key for new riders is to hold steady going to McDonalds. It is sligthly uphill going in that direction. If you manage you energy right, coming back is much faster. Lots of riders for the first time get frustrated by getting dropped on Dog Loop going out. Don't. Just relax, ride your ride, then when you head back it will be slightly easier.

Not real confident about riding out of The Woodlands yet? No worries, here is a 20 Mile loop that keeps you within The Woodlands. Need to do 40 miles....do it twice :). Some longer sections without stop signs and traffic lights. Good to do with people new to the sport and those just trying to finish a first tri, such as CB&I.

Here is a 50-55 mile loop through Magnolia. This is a great ride to do with friends. Multiple places to stop and regroup at good intervals. They have been working on 1486 and roads are in better condition that a few years ago. There are some rollers when on the northern part that provide some change to the normal flat sections:

Here is a 70 mile route supplied by club member Doug Stiles. On a recent ride he mentioned it. I never have turned south off 1488 so he was kind enough to send me the link. Maybe something different for you all that have worn out Jackson Road and 1486!

Here is a 90+ Mile Ride up into Montgomery leaving from the Branch Crossing YMCA. This is a great ride for those training for Ironman races, or going over distance. It encompasses some of the Ironstar and our social ride routes, so there are some rolling hills. This is not an easy ride so be prepared.

RIDES LEAVING FROM LOCATIONS OUTSIDE THE WOODLANDS:

The following link will get you to the map for the Club Social Ride. This is also a good ride to do if you want to get out of The Woodlands and don't mind driving to a starting point. There are two rides as an out and back. Either return at Richards, or go all the way to Anderson and return. Be sure to check the elevation feature on this map as there are rollers.

Anderson Loop Ride: Looking for a loop, rather than an out and back to Anderson, like the social ride, but still leaving from Montgomery? Well, here you go. A nice, just under 60 mile loop with nice rollers and majority on really good roads. Convenience stores in Richard and Dacus can help with the restocking of supplies if needed. Here is the link.
