Welcome to the Lonestar Multisport Club Purpose The purpose of our club is to serve triathletes, duathletes, and other multisport enthusiasts of all abilities by offering support and social events through contact with other athletes and the local athletic community as a whole.

About Us The club is only four years old but has rapidly grown.  Our 130+ club members reside primarily in the northern Houston -Conroe area but we also have members that outside of the greater metropolitan Houston area.

Monthly Meetings The Lonestar Multisport Club holds monthly meetings.  In 2008, those will usually be held at the Shadowbend YMCA on Shadowbend Rd. just south of Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands.  Besides providing pizza and refreshments, attendees enjoy seeing and catching up with fellow club members as well as hearing great guest speakers.  Among many great presenters, we have included USAT-certified coach, Dana Lyons on going from off-season to in-season; Nutritionist Odessa Long who discussed Nutrition for the Endurance Athlete; USAT-certified coach Sandra Sutherland on transitions; Candy Cheatham, President of the USAT-SMW Region who taught us much about the costly mistakes athletes make in her presentation: "The Race Official's Point of View", and many others.  Unless there is a scheduling conflict, meetings are on the third Monday of each month from 6:45-8pm.  Notwithstanding, we ALWAYS post the latest information on the homepage calendar and announcements and weekly newsletter.

Weekly Training Opportunities  You will find club members working out every day of the week.  Our most popular group events are the weekend cycling rides.  We have a forum that can be linked from the homepage where members post information.  In addition, look under Training, Cycling for some local routes.  On Sundays, we also join The Woodlands Running Club for long runs, typically followed by coffee/breakfast and lots of good camaraderie.During the week, we also have a coached track workout done by Dana Lyons on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM at the College Park H.S. track that many club members attend.  There is a small monthly fee that Dana charges for this awesome service.

Racing
The Club provides volunteer services to three major races during the year.  The CB&I Triathlon, an emerging prestige annual event in The Woodlands, Texas, is normally scheduled in the early part of May.  The club also provides volunteer service to The Ironstar Triathlon, a half iron man event, which is scheduled in November of the year in Del Lago, near Montgomery, Texas. Lonestar Multisport also provides volunteer support for a youth triathlon in The Woodlands.
The Club also provides a basis for members to plan trips to races.  We recently purchased a bike case that can be reserved by club members for travel.
